Born and raised in Miami, founder Jairo Osorno turned a family side hustle into one of the city’s most recognizable short-term rental brands. What began in his mother’s house with one subdivided Airbnb unit has grown into 51 listings across 9 buildings. By 2023, however, rising lease costs and a cooling market squeezed margins. Today, Del Carmen is outpacing the Miami market, despite heavy competition and its reliance on international travel. The business has secured Superhost status, diversified beyond Airbnb into VRBO and Booking.com, and continues to expand with new properties under negotiation.
